Judging Short Listed Finalists

Tough Choices for Tourism Judges

Judges from The Suffolk Tourism Awards have been visiting different attractions across Suffolk recently as part of the judging process for shortlisted finalists.

This week, Brigit Parker of Choose Suffolk, who is this year’s main sponsor of the awards, was joined by David Falk of Discover Suffolk and Richard Campling from Camplings Ltd to spend the day determining who should be the winner in the Best Large Suffolk Attraction category.

This year’s shortlisted finalists for the Best Large Suffolk Attraction are Christchurch Mansion, Pleasurewood Hills and Southwold Pier. Alongside spending time at each attraction to find out more about their facilities, services and activities, the judges examined each entrant’s written submissions containing detailed information about such areas as commitment to excellence, innovative marketing and accessibility.

David Falk commented, “The judging for these awards has been very difficult because of the quality of each entrant. They have all given us comprehensive information and detailed written submissions that are of a very high standard. It’s been a real pleasure to spend some time visiting these businesses and we will have some difficult choices to make in deciding the overall winner.”

Alex Paul, Tourism Manager at Choose Suffolk, said, “Choose Suffolk is incredibly proud to be part of this showcase for Suffolk tourism. The sector brings an annual £1.6bn into the county’s economy and supports some 30,000 jobs, so these businesses play an invaluable role and should be congratulated for all their hard work.” He continued, “The standards the judges are seeing this year are extremely high and demonstrate a widespread commitment to continually improve the customer experience.”
